15 Ways to Boost Your Stamina

 
 
Do you find yourself getting tired by the end of the day? Do simple tasks like climbing stairs exhaust you? You may think you’re fit and healthy, but your body is secretly telling you that you need more stamina! Here are some tips that will go a long way to make you stronger, healthier and quicker!

 Keep yourself hydrated

Drinking lots of water is an effective and natural way to keep your stamina level high. It also helps increase your metabolism. This is one easy way of staying fit.

Cardio exercises

Make it a point to do 30 minutes of cardio exercises every alternate day. Running, swimming, cycling, rowing and step aerobics are a great way to de-stress, keep fit and build up your stamina at the same time!

Do weight training every alternate day.

Weight training is a form of exercise where your body is stimulated by lifting weights and it can do wonders to increase your stamina. Start out with smaller weights like light dumbbells and try increasing your weights in the second week. However be cautious and don't increase them if you are not comfortable with it.

Keep a track of what you’re eating

It’s equally important to make sure that you’re eating the right food! Avoid any food that’s high in saturated fats and sugar. That means saying goodbye to those greasy burgers and French fries!

Take in good quality fats

You may think dieting can solve all your problems, but eliminating all fats from your diet is not the answer! Products such as flax seeds and fish oil capsules contain a lot of good quality fats (omega 3 fatty acids) that can help improve nerve and cell functioning and therefore keep your stamina high.

Take in first class proteins
Make sure you take in plenty of first class proteins. First class proteins consist of all essential amino acids that your body cannot produce and therefore needs to be provided in a diet. Egg whites, low fat milk and milk products, fish and chicken contain these necessary proteins and can therefore keep you strong.

Include fibrous salads twice a day

Eating plenty of greens can boost your metabolism, therefore keeping you healthy for a longer time. If you’re still not convinced, salads are heart healthy and have cell building ingredients! Other than increasing your stamina, this can really help you if you’re trying to lose weight.

Include core training 

Core training helps strengthen your mid section as well as your middle and lower back, therefore making you stronger and healthier. Include core training once a week and it’s sure to help increase your stamina. . Sprinting, dead lifts, squats and pushups are great ways to strengthen your back and core muscles.

Practice deep breathing exercises

Other than helping you reduce stress, strain and anxiety, breathing exercise like pranayam can make your lungs stronger and boost your stamina.  

Spend some time playing active sports

Don’t be cooped up in your house all day! Find a sport you’re interested in and take it up as a hobby! Activities like tennis, badminton, football do help you become stronger but their also great ways to relax and have fun.

 Include activities that improve your muscular endurance

Building your muscular endurance helps you to continue using your muscular strength. Activities like swimming, spinning or cycling give your muscles the ability to perform repeated movements for long periods of time without becoming tired. Doing this is a sure way to boost stamina.

Have fun with adventure sports

Some sports have a lot of health benefits and can really boost up your stamina. But other than that they are also loads of fun! Like trekking and rock climbing. Take care of your health and be an adventurous at the same time!

Practice yoga

Other than breathing exercises, yoga contains a lot of physical exercise that can benefit your health. Try doing the surya namaskar once a week to help improve muscle tone and flexibility.

Avoid using lifts

Have a busy schedule and little time for exercise? Try some easy steps like walking to work or to the nearest bus stop instead of taking a cab or an auto. Also try using the stairs instead of the lift in your office or to your apartment. These small steps increase your stamina and make you stronger.
